How Spade Protects Your Data

What we collect when you deposit with PayID or POLi, how we verify your identity, and where your AUD account records go.

Your Data at Spade

Last updated: September 25, 2026

This page sets out how we collect, store and use your personal and financial information when you play at Spade, with particular detail on Australian payment rails and identity checks.

We collect data at three points: when you register, when you move money, and when you play. Each stage carries a different level of sensitivity, and we treat AUD transaction data with the same care as your identity documents. This page goes beyond a general terms summary to explain exactly what happens to your details once you submit them.

What We Collect at Registration

When you open a Spade account we ask for your full name, date of birth, email, mobile number and residential address. Date of birth is checked against our 18+ policy before any account is activated. We also record the device and browser you used to sign up, which helps us flag accounts opened from restricted regions or from multiple registrations tied to one household.

PayID, POLi and Card Data

PayID deposits are matched to your registered mobile number or email through Australia's PayID directory. We store the PayID identifier and the confirmation reference for each transaction, but we never see or hold your online banking password. POLi works the same way: POLi authenticates directly with your bank, and Spade only receives a success or failure result plus the deposit amount.

For Visa and Mastercard deposits, card numbers are tokenised by our payment processor. We keep the last four digits and expiry for your records page, not the full card number. Bank transfer deposits and withdrawals require your BSB and account number, which are stored to process future payouts back to the same account, in line with standard anti-fraud practice at Australian-facing casinos.

Crypto Deposits: Bitcoin and USDT

If you deposit with Bitcoin or Tether, we log the wallet address and transaction hash used for that deposit. Blockchain transactions are public by nature, but we do not link your wallet address to your identity beyond what is needed to credit your AUD balance and process withdrawals back to a matching wallet.

Identity Verification (KYC)

Before your first withdrawal, and sometimes earlier if a deposit pattern triggers a review, we ask for a government-issued photo ID such as a driver licence or passport, plus a proof of address dated within the last three months. For larger withdrawals we may request a selfie holding your ID or a screenshot of your PayID-linked bank account to confirm ownership. These documents are used solely for identity and anti-fraud checks and to meet obligations that apply to Australian-facing gambling operators.

How Long We Keep Records

Transaction records, KYC documents and account activity logs are retained for as long as your account is active, and for a period afterward to satisfy financial record-keeping and dispute-resolution requirements. Closed accounts with no pending withdrawals or disputes are eligible for data minimisation on request, though some transaction records must be retained regardless under standard financial compliance practice.

Who Sees Your Data

  • Payment processors handling PayID, POLi, card and crypto transactions, solely to complete deposits and payouts
  • Identity verification providers who check your submitted ID against fraud and duplicate-account databases
  • Our support team on Australian hours, for account queries and withdrawal checks
  • Game providers such as Evolution Gaming and Pragmatic Play, who receive gameplay data (bets and outcomes) but not your banking details
  • Regulators or law enforcement, only where required by law

We do not sell your personal data to third parties for marketing. Promotional emails about the welcome package or free spins offers are sent only if you have not opted out, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.

Security Measures

Account passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text. Payment pages use encrypted connections. We recommend using a unique password for your Spade account and enabling any two-step verification option offered at login, particularly if you access your account from a shared device.

Your Rights Over Your Data

You can request a copy of the personal data we hold on your account, ask us to correct inaccurate details, or request account closure through support. Some requests, such as deleting transaction history tied to an open withdrawal dispute, cannot be actioned immediately for compliance reasons, but we will explain the specific reason if a request is delayed.

If you are concerned about how gambling activity is affecting your finances or wellbeing, our Responsible Gambling page has tools including deposit limits and self-exclusion.
